By AVM I’m referring to Animation vs. Minecraft, my latest project that has been in the works since October of last year.
Current work hour count: 369.5
This is only half of what it took to make Animator vs. Animation IV. The reason why I’m only able to devote half as many hours in the same amount of time is that my need for freelance work is much higher due to the absence of Kickstarter funds. That is why I launched my Patreon page, to hopefully fill in that hole and give me more time.
I had hoped to finish this beast of a project by the end of the summer. Lo and behold it’s September and I’m still only 2/3 of the way done. That’s the bad news. The good news is that it’s looking beautiful, and I’m hiring some animators to do a lot of the tedious work for me. My personal deadline to finish this animation is the end of the year. Until then, I’m still live-streaming my animating sessions on Twitch, at least once a week.
In an effort to encourage more people to become patrons, I am adding some new rewards!
$10 – A looping animation of anything you want. I will do one per month, picking one patron at random (of the patrons that pledge $10), and will record myself animating whatever that patron asks me to animate, and then post the video to the Patreon activity feed, and send the resulting animated GIF to the patron. As of now there are no patrons at this level, so you are guaranteed an animation if you are the only $10 patron. Here’s a winking hummingbird I made for one of my patrons:
$20 – Text-only cameo appearance in Animation vs. Minecraft. Your name in the next animation! The more months you give, the more prominent the cameo, meaning the more time you will be on screen. It will probably look something like this:
$30 – Picture and Text CAMEO APPEARANCE in Animation vs. Minecraft! Same deal as above, but this reward used to be $50. I wanted more people’s faces to be in the animation, so I made it cheaper. You can submit any picture you want, and change your name to whatever you want. Since it’s a monthly amount, the patrons who have given collectively more will have more screen time. And I will be fair about that. It might look something like this.
And don’t forget my Digital Downloads page, which now has the iPhone fight scene video that you can re-enact by playing on your phone!
